Both stamps are from Penny Black. The pp came from a pack that someone gave me several years ago. The button paws are many years old as I think they were from when my girls were little and I made different hair clips for them........talk about digging deep into stash! lol

another Birthday card

This is another case of my mind deceiving my hands....convincing them that this will work out and be wonderful. lol When I bought this stamp, I wanted to make a card for a dear friend, but now not too sure I will send it to her. She raises cows as pets.....having them all named and everything. lol In my mind I thought the bright pink and black would be just perfect for this image after I got it colored. Seems I would learn not to listen to what I tell myself because things never turn out how I plan them. lol Anyway, here it is in all it's gaudiness. lol

Happy Birthday Jodi!

My eldest daughter turns 34 this month! I cannot believe how fast the time has flown. I remember so well the first time I saw her how excited I was to have my little girl! Her brother was just two years and she was his baby from the start! Oh the memories of so many years and yet it seems like yesterday. I cannot believe how old my kids are making me! lol Anyway, this is the card I made for her. I showed it to her daughters and they really liked it so am hoping she will too.

Happy Birthday wonderful daughter! I love you!

As you can see I use the darling stamp from CC Designs. I thought the "sweets" paper from Nana's Kitchen was so cute I just had to use it. By the time I got the card done, you couldn't see all that much. lol I used one of my new Nestabilities for the doily circle. I think I will enjoy the new nesties I have purchased if I can just remember to use them. When I found the sketch I wanted to use, I pictured this card looking so much cuter than the finished product but then again, my mind lies to me about how wonderful things are going to turn out! lol As usual, I had to finish it all up with lots and lots of stickles.

My parents anniversary card

My parents celebrated 48 years together on the 6th. I made them this card and used the new Lily of the Valley image because her holding his hand really touched me. It just reminded me of the gentle love these two people have for each other. I hope some day my children will look at Jon and I with the same awe I have for my parents. I used some paper from a kit that I had forgot I even had. I also use the larger roses that I have always shied away from thinking they were too large for cards. The little heart charm was one of the first charms I bought way back when. Of course I had to use stickles on the flowers as well on the 48th. It looks a lot better in person than in these pictures.

A little Birthday greeting

My new friend in Montana that bought my first card ever, has ordered a few more for Birthdays. So I am throwing some together for her to choose from. Here is the first one. I used this little cutie from Whipper Snapper. What better way to spend a warm summer day than taking your kitty for a stroll! lol I love their stamps. I first found the sketch I wanted to use and then got busy. I am loving the stamp set I bought last month of tickets. As you can see I added stickles to the flowers and the ticket and even to the background paper on the front. Gotta love the bling! lol Since easel cards are her favorite, I made this one as an easel.

Another "Friend" card

I have really enjoyed my evenings this week since hubby is visiting his mother in California and am actually getting some craft time in. Yesterday, an old friend stopped by on her way thru Idaho from Arizona. We met for lunch and just visited for a couple hours. It was so good to see her again. It amazes me how God can bring someone into your life and even tho you do not get to see each other or do not really correspond much, the love you share as friends remains forever. I do not think her and I have even emailed each other for almost a year.....never talk on the phone.....well do not really communicate at all until we can meet up. And once we meet up, it is like we were still neighbors..... like so many years ago. I do thank the Lord for the awesome friends he has given me.

Anyway, Just thinking about friends and how much each one means to me, I made this card for a very special lady in my life. I hope she likes it when she receives it. I used one of my newest Mag stamps. I love the color combination of pink and green so went with it. lol You can see I added lots of bling! I sprayed the flowers with Glimmer mist and added stickles to the leaves. I did use a paper doily to follow the sketch but it seems to be lost in the midst of all the flowers. This is the first time I have used my old but never been used MS butterfly punches. Thank you so much for stopping by.

I was so excited to be invited to be a guest designer for Digital Delights . They let me choose which stamp I would like to use and I fell in love with this darling froggy. I love the papers in this pad! I used my new Cricut cartridge "Nate's ABCs" for the numbers as well as for the green parts of the cat tails. (the brown was just hand cut). I can't believe what a roll I am on the last couple days! lol I needed to step away from all the guy cards and make at least one girly one. Then it will be on to more boy cards that I have to get done. I love my new Bildmalarna stamp and had to use her right away. I have never used the pearl swirl stickers before so that was a bit stressing for me. I pictured this card covered in flowers before I started with it. Of course my mind always lies to me about what the finished product will look like. lol Anyway, it is what it is and now I am off to another grandson ballgame. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Thinking of you card for my brother

My brother is having surgery tomorrow and I wanted to let him know he is in my thoughts and prayers so I hurriedly threw this card together with the scraps from my Father's Day card. I used another of my new wilderness stamps because my brother loves wildlife and watches the deer everyday on his property. Father's Day card for my Pop

Well, it is that time of year when we get the perfect chance to let our dads know just how much they mean to us. I chose the deer stamp as my pop loves hunting and wildlife and all the other junk that goes with being a guy. lol Although is does not show in these pictures, I inked the background behind the deer so there is a sky with clouds and then shrub like coloring on the bottom. I chose to make a step card just because it has been awhile since I have made one and also because I think he will enjoy setting it up for awhile.I chose the verse because I do believe one of the things I am most thankful to God for is the capacity to love. I am also most thankful to pop because even tho he did not "father" me, he loved me and raised me as his own. I hope he has one awesome Father's Day because if there ever was a dad that deserved the best, it is my pop!

My first custom order card!

This is my first custom order card and I must say I am more than a tad nervous. I have never sold a card before and am hoping the lady will like this one just fine. It is for her son who is into guitars and music so this is what I came up with. I used the darling little Hanglar stamp.....just love their stamps. The music paper was some I just recently purchased for no particular reason at the time. lol I dug out the old old Sizzix Fun Serif numbers and Sizzix music note dies that I do not think have been out of their box in years. Was good to go back and use some of my old things. The name and Happy Birthday were cut from my expression. With three charms and some stickles, I finished it up. I will email her photos for her approval and hopefully it will be off to Montana! lol

Challenge I am entering.....beside the one of making my first sale! lol

One more grandson's birthday card

I think this is the last grandson birthday card until July! This is for my little guy that turns 6 on the 28th. I cannot believe how fast they are growing up. When I was looking for an image and came across this cutie from High Hopes, I just knew it was right for Ryan. I can just see him if he caught a frog. He would have that same proud expression. Makes me smile to just think about it. lol Anyway I used some papers from a pad I purchased while at Expo. I used a MS punch. I bought the ticket stamps while at the coast a few weeks ago and love them. No stickles on this one....... that is kind of hard for me to not do.....lol

Grandson's birthday card-money holder

Here is another birthday card for one of the grandsons. I usually give them money so made a pocket on the inside to hold it this time. This grandson loves football so wanted to use this cute little image from Lily of the Valley. I found a charm that I have no idea how long I have had but it has been awhile as well as the ribbon. The stripped paper is from a pile of paper that I stowed away in a cupboard over two years ago. lol Of course I had to add a little stickles. lol Also used my nessties to cut the ovals and a

Dd's Birthday card box.

This is a card I made for my youngest daughter's birthday. It is the first time I have tried to make the box-book card and am actually happy with it for once. lol I used the cute monkey stamp from CC Designs because my daughter loves monkeys. ( I also thought he is just too cute!) I used three different patterned papers and two different colors of card stock. I used the Nesties for the ovals and a MS border punch for the lace scallops on the inside. As you can see I used plenty of stickles as usual. Gotta love the bling! I filled the box part of the card with her favorite candy-Rolos. Also under the candy is where I wrote our "greetings" to her for her special day. Her son is spending the night with us and he really liked the card. He said he thinks his mom will really like it. This is her son that doesn't show too much emotion for things like this' so it meant a lot to me to see his joy. He said he can't wait for tomorrow for her to get it. lol Gotta love those grandkids!

Simple Easter cards

Since I have been so sick the last month I have not had time to get things done like I wanted to. But, I threw these three cards together rather quickly today and even tho they will be late getting to their destinations, I think the grands will be happy when they get their package. I put little chicks on the inside to represent each grandchild in the respective families because they are my favorite peeps.....well as well as their parents. lol Anyway, I dug deep into my stash for these. First I used some old cards that who knows how long I have owned. Then I used my Creative Memories eggs shape die cut to make each card. For the newer side of stash, I used my new teddy-bunny stamp and also used my CE and my new cartridge Zooballoo to cut the grass. And of course just had to add stickles. lol

Another Grandson's card

Well finally finished this one. It has been a struggle this week to get me motivated to do anything but knew I had to have it done tonight as Andre's is spending tomorrow night with us for his birthday. His birthday is Monday and one thing he wanted was to stay with us. I did this one very plain and simple. Yoda is a digi printout from kids coloring pages on the internet. My grandson is a huge Star Wars fan so I thought this would be good for him. He is also a fan of easel cards and is always excited when he sees something personalized with his name. The corners and ovals are Quikcutz dies which I have had for a little while but have never used. I inked the edges and then used my TH distressing tool. The colors are a lot brighter in person but my camera seems to fade things out a lot.

Challenges I am entering are:

Grandson's birthday card

Decided it was time I try to get these cards finished that I need to have done. Partly because I am feeling a little better but mostly because they have to be done! lol This is a first to several cards I have to make for grandsons. I searched for a sketch to use and liked the one from The Sweet Stop for this card. I used the cute little stamps from Lily of the Valley. Also used my new stamp from Clear Dollar Stamps for the sentiment. As I searched thru my tons of charms, I realized I am out of boyish birthday ones, so settled on this cutie in a cap. I think my grandson will like him. I used my creative memories punch and my Nestibilities for the circles.

My brother's birthday card

I am finally finished with a well overdue birthday card. I made this for my brother for his birthday. Didn't start out as an easel card....only ended that way because after I got the front all decorated, I realized the card would open from the top. lol So after quickly cutting off at the fold, it soon became and easel card. I was telling my sil about how dumb I was and she said that was a good thing as easel cards are my brother's favorite. So with that being said, I hope he will forgive me for being so slow and hope he likes this little fisherman!

I used the cute little Hanglar fisherman as fishing is one of my brother's favorite pastimes. I also tried my hand at quilling again making the cattails on the bottom part of the card. I dug thru my old old stash of stickers and found the campfire one and decided to use it. I used chestnut roan ink to distress all the edges. Would have used my Tim Holtz distressing tool too but seamed to have misplaced it once again! lol And of course, I just had to use stickles! lol

Bible Box

In 1983 I rededicated my life back to Christ. My mom was really happy with that fact and to show her support, for Christmas that year I unwrapped her old Bible! I was in shock. Tho I had never mentioned to her how much I loved that Bible, she must have known what a perfect gift it was. I sat and cried as she just sat and smiled. Many times in my life I have cradled this Bible and grew strength it the words written. I will cherish it for the rest of my life. I believe it is the best present she has ever given me other than the gift of being my mom. The bookmark was handmade by one of my favorite nieces!

Now to how the box came about. I purchased it while on a shopping journey with my niece in the hopes of making a cricut cartridge box for when I travel. When I finished decorating the top I just had to share with my friend Bev. Bev immediately said it looked more like a box to store a Bible in than cartridges. I just kind of laughed and thought that I was going to proceed with finishing the inside to accommodate the cartridges. A couple days ago, while playing on eBay, I ended up purchasing a Gypsy. Well, with a Gypsy, I have no need for a box. lol I immediately placed my precious Bible in said box and am happy with that now! I do think I may line the inside with velvet to help protect the Bible more. It has now gone from an ordinary wooden box into a very special "treasure " chest full of hope! I antiqued it all with ink and then sprayed the entire top with Glimmer Mist. I added extra bling to the flowers by using Shimmerz. I also added glitter to one of the butterflies and embossing powder to the other. Anyone that knows me knows I love bling on my projects!

I thank you all for stopping by. I pray God will bless each on in a very special way!

The top photo shows the colors a little more true. They look a little muted on this next photo.

I hope to line the inside with velvet and padding in order to more protect the Bible.

Two layouts done!

I have finally finished two layouts instead of just making cards! :-) The first one is my oldest grand child spending a day at the races with us. The other one is my youngest grandchild on his first Halloween. I really hate "spray painting" their faces but my children have all said they do not want their children's faces out on the open net. Although I have to agree I still hate painting their faces! lol

Thanks for stopping by. Hugs to all and may God bless each one.

Card for Luke!

Lacey from Stamp and Create is having a card drive and fund raisers to help a little boy named Luke. You can read more about him on her blog, so please go visit her blog as well as her store! I was really touched by his story and wanted to make a card for him. I am challenging everyone who reads this to make him a card also! I just spent the last week at my little get away island and this was the very first project on my list. I chose to make an easel card thinking Luke may like it standing. I chose the scripture as that seems to be one of many that the family is drawing strength from as they lean totally on God to see them thru this ordeal. I hope you will add Luke and his family to your prayers.

I am entering lots of challenges in hopes of spreading Lukes' story:

Valentine for my parents

I found the sketch from Beary Scrap and knew I wanted to use it for the little card for my mom and pop. I used the new mini magnolia I just got and colored her with copics, chalks and pencils. As you can see I just had to add stickles as always! lol This is a very simple card but I think they will appreciate the thought and love behind it. I tried to get a good photo but the colors just kept looking washed out.

Valentine for my Girls

This is the card I made for the grand daughters for V-day. I decided to see how many different things I could do to this card. lol I used my new paper pad by DCWV and for something old I used my sewing machine.....well over 25 years old. I then used a MS punch for the border as well as some lace ribbon. I inked all the edges for the distressed look.Used my Expression for the flourishes. Then I dug out my Blingz and Shimmerz and added them.....Blingz on the flowers and Shimmerz on the flourishes and lace border. Of course I just had to add a little stickles here and there on the stamped image. I found the little white bud things in some wedding junk I had left over from my dd's wedding......over 10 years ago. The darling little image is from Bildmalarna's new "Little Winged Friends" set. I think they are all so cute! I colored the image with copics, chalks and pencils.
