Just a swingin'

This week at Sophisti-cat, our challenge was to use embossing on your project. I embossed the flourishes, the sentiment and the brads. They are actually green but look more blue in the photo. Anyway, as I lay in bed one evening, trying to ignore my shingles, I thought of making a card where my little girl could actually swing. I am hoping to remake this style again but put a little extra work into it. This week it was mainly to figure out how I wanted it done. When you open the card she swings a little bit. My grandsons all had to give her a push when they saw her. lol Anyway, I am entering her in a couple challenges this week.

Lexi's is challenging us to an "Anything Goes"! I liked this one since I did not use a sketch or color recipe or anything, I figure this card fit that challenge perfectly. lol

At a Spoon Full of Sugar the challenge is Spring is in the Air. I know my grandkids cannot wait for Spring to come to go out and play.

At Our Creative Corner, they want us to try something new. Since I kind of made up this design myself, I must say that is something new. I usually copy everyone else. lol It is also the first time I have actually heat embossed die cuts and brads to match. I have heat embossed very little so most this card was an experiment for me.

At Cute Card Tuesday it is a challenge "Metal Mania". I figure my little brads make this card qualify!

Crafty Creations is calling for stitching to be used! I love stitching on my cards so this is always a welcome challenge for me.

Pollycraft has the challenge "Double Up". You have to use two different stamped images to make your creation. I used the little Sugar Nellie and my flower stamps.

Please hurry over to Sophisti-cat Challenge Blog and join us this week. We have some awesome DT examples to inspire you!

Well, I am off to play with Jonathan as it is his turn to stay with Gramma and for some reason he doesn't think watching me on the computer is much fun. Wonder why!!! lol Thanks for stopping by. Hugs and God bless each of you!

I am now part of the DT for Sophisti-cat Challenge Blog!

I am still in a state of shock that I was actually chosen to be on this wonderful Design Team for Sophisti-cat!!! Thank you so much for allowing me this privilege!!!!

This is the first card I have made as a part of the DT at Sophisti-cat! I am so excited to be a part of this wonderful group of talent. This week Gina challenged us to use sewing or stitching on our creations. I made this card for my brother. The pp are some older ones from Scenic Route. The darling image is from Doodle Palace. When I first saw it, I knew I just had to have it for this card! My brother loves hunting and fishing and all the "guy" things. lol The two little fly hooks were made by my great nephew a few years ago. He made me several but I have been very frugal using them. I know my brother is going to love them as he gets real excited about home made items. I thank you for stopping by. Please go on over to Sophisti-cat! and see all the wonderful creations my fellow DT members made for your inspirations and join in the fun for this challenge!

I am entering if in a couple challenges this week. The first is "special birthday" from PaperPlay
Another one is for " spotted or striped" which if the challege from Lexi's!

The sketch is from Papertake Weekly and I just love this sketch!!!!

Two other challenges I am entering is for sewing also! They are One Stitch at a Time and Corrosive!

THE PINK ELEPHANT BLOG HOP!!!

HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY TO TPK!!!!!

If you are doing TPE blog hop and arrived here from Lori, you are in the right place! If you just arrived here on your own and would like to hop around with us, you may start at the Pink Elephant Blog.

Today I am privileged to join in the celebration in honor of one successful year for The Pink Elephant challenge blog!!!! Thank you so much for allowing guests to"hop" on board! For this celebration we were to choose our favorite TPE challenge from the last twelve months. I have just recently found their blog so it was so much fun going through all the challenges. There were too many fun challenges to actually choose my favorite. I finally decided on #20 from last June. It was a sketch challenge:

I chose to make a birthday card as that is the reason for this fun blog hop! (I also needed to make a birthday card for one of my grandsons and figured this would do both!) lol

Now, in honor of this being the very first blog hop I have been allowed to be a part of, I am offering a little prize. I will draw a random number from the comment posts at the end of the blog hop. So, if you would like the chance to win this darling Christmas Eve Tilda stamp and a new Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad, just leave me a comment and enjoy the blog hop. I will post the winner Friday so be sure to check back to see if you are the one!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Now to continue on your way to see some beautiful creations just hop on over to Tanja and you will be wowed by her talent!

Tilda with Rose

This card started off with a challenge to myself to use up some of the "ugly" papers I have. There always seem to be some in every pad I buy! lol Well, I went thru some and found a couple pp that I really thought there was no hope for. I will admit I think the card turned out way better than I ever thought it possibly could!!!

I found the sketch I thought would be perfect over at Roses on paper but when I got the card finished, I realized I had not put the one paper on the left of the sketch so not sure if I will be disqualified or not.

Lexi's Creations has a challenge for a Valentine and over at Sophisticats the challenge is for Love. Love Note is the challenge over at Paper Play.

At Pollycrafts this week the challenge is for wings and this little Tilda has her little wings ready to take flight or something! lol Also, at Flutter By Wednesday they are challenges us to an open challenge and the theme is Butterfly, Fairy or angel. Not sure whether this little Tilda is a fairy or an angel. lol With "wings" she is also qualified for the challenge at Crafty Creations this week.

At Forever Friends they have a great challenge of "Inside Out". You need to make a card that shows the inside of your card from the front. I loved this challenge and had fun making it.

Ovals is the challenge from Alphabet Challenges this week.

Sitting Pretty Valentine

Well I was challenged to use this sketch for last weeks challenge from Delightful Sketches and Challenges . But it will be entered in their challenge for this week which is "Love". Over at
By the Cute and Girly their theme is also "Love".

Doodle Palace
has the fun challenge of "texture". I thought this card has lots of texture from the cardstock to the glitter, ribbon, bling and sewing! I have fun looking for different things to add so she would have lots of textures.

My color choice came from the challenge from The Pixie Cottage where we were to use pink and red.

Thanks ladies for more fun challenges and now am off to start some new ones!!!

Love you muchly!

Isn't this little "Pure Innocence" stamp for "My Favorite Things" just about the cutest!!! I fell in love with her when I saw her. I love the sentiment that came with her also! I am entering her in several challenges this week.

The Crafty Pad is where I chose my sketch.

These three are all challenging us to use hearts on our creations.
the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge
Fussy and Fancy
Hand full of Stamps

I had fun working with her and making this card. THANKS challengers!!!!

Get well card

My great nephew had knee surgery Friday from an injury that occurred while playing basketball. He is so bummed about being out for this season, if not longer. I thought maybe a card might lift his spirits a little so I made this little Edwin with band aids on his knee. I am entering him in several challenges for this week too. lol Of course I just love challenges.

My color choices come from The Color Dare. We are to use colors olive and celery greens, two different blues and a suede brown. I got pretty excited when I found the striped paper that was perfect for this challenge.

Sweet Stampin has a challenge for scallops. I used my new scallop punch to border the ribbon.

One of the last challenge is at Magnolia Stamp Lovers! Their challenge this week is to use button and or bows. When I read their challenge and saw the sketch challenge at Sweet Stop, I knew these two belonged together!

Thanks for viewing my blog and I appreciate all comments!
