Hannah's birthday card

I made this card for my youngest grand daughter whose birthday is next week.  I have always scrapped her cards in pinks and girly girly things.  She informed me one day that she really did not like pinks but everyone seems to think she does.  She was not talking about my cards or anything particular.....just discussing different colors.  I remembered her words and vowed to do her card in anything but pink.  This is hard for me because with only two grand daughters and nine grand sons, I hardly get to make too many pink things.  lol

Hannah has a love for all animals so thought she would like my new Tilda stamp.  After coloring her, I did a search for a sketch to use and when I saw the one from Carly, I knew it was the one I wanted to use for this card.  Her sketches are so fun I think.  I used an older Kanban stamp for the "hug" sentiment and my new Whimsy die for the little banner sentiment.  Whimsy die and nestties die for the frames.  I used a MS punch for the lace border,  I inked and sewed around the edges and finished it off with a charm and stickles.  I sure hope Hannah will like this change from her girly girl cards she usually receives from me.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  God bless.

Hannah- fishing

This is a layout I made for a small challenge group I am in.  The challenge was to choose one of the 3 given sketches and make a double mirror image layout.

This is my youngest grand daughter who loves fishing and just about any other thing she can spend time doing with Daddy.  I cannot believe how small she was and how fast time goes by.  Back in 2004, my family surprised me with a camping trip in honor of my 50th birthday.  To some this may not seem that special but my hubby hates camping and he was the one that planned it all!  When I think about it, it still amazes me.  Anyway, little Hannah was a very dedicated fisherman this day and was so happy when she caught her first fish.  When we got back to camp that evening, she was just as excited to eat her catch too.

I am trying to learn to use stamped images for my scrap books also but not too sure I am happy with that idea.  I do wish the little Tilda stamp was a bit larger for this page.  The little fish is a Hanglar stamp.  I do not know why I neglected to sew on this layout as I usually do!  I used my CE to cut the flourishes, a MS border punch, nesties and then my new Whimsy die.  Finished things off with inking the edges and added stickles to the flourishes.  The little fish charm is out of my older stash that I am trying to use!

Thanks so much for stopping by and may God always bless each of you.

Christmas in July

This was made for the Christmas card challenge group I belong to.  It was due by today so I hurried and threw this poor card together real fast.  I used the cute Nativity stamp from High Hopes.  I colored it with copics and highlighted with colored pencils.  The patterned papers are scraps from other Christmas projects.  The lace circle is a nesties die.  I dug deep in my charm stash for the little charm in the center of the bow.  I added a few pearls to accent the scallops some.  I don't know why I thought I could sew around the scallops but probably won't be thinking that way again!  lol  All edges are inked with Chestnut Roan chalks.  The image is popped for added dimension.  Thank you so much for stopping by.  God be with you always.

Tauna's card

Today is my niece's birthday and I wanted to make her a card because she is so special to me.  I want to thank my nephew for marrying her all those years ago just so I could be her auntie.  Love you both so much!  Anyway, I thought my new little Tilda stamp holding the flower was too cute so chose her.  I don't make many "girly" cards with blues so decided to try it.  The pp is one sheet double sided so didn't spend too much time trying to match papers.  lol  I used two stamps from Whimsy.....the little banner and the sentiment.  The circle around the sentiment is a nesties die as well as the heart square around the image.  I inked the edges and sewed around them.  The flowers and leaves are from my old stash from forever ago.  lol  As you can see I finished it off with stickles as normal.  lol  Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting.  Hugs and God bless you all.

Friend's Birthday card

Okay this card was a challenge from the very start!  lol  I was running out of time so my first challenge was getting it done and mailed (which did not happen on time)!  I knew right off what image I wanted to use because this friend not only loves Magnolia stamps, but adores bears.  I also knew I would use purple as this is her favorite color.....my least fav to scrap!  lol  So it started off with another challenge of colors.  I am so not a purple person.  I figured while it seemed this card was a challenge from the very start, I would make it even more and see just how many different embellies I could do on it and still have it not be to ugly.  I mean, after starting with purple, uphill is the only place I could go!  lol  Just teasing all you purple lovers out there.  Anyway, I used copics to colors her.  I found a sketch I liked but knew I would not get it done in time to enter their challenge but used it anyway.  I did use three of my new dies from Whimsy....the little bar thing in the upper left corner, the half circle with the Birthday sentiment, and the little ticket.  The paper lace border and the scalloped oval are Nesties.  I inked all the edges and then sewed. Added lots of flowers and pearls.  The image is popped for added dimension  an well as the ticket.  Topped everything off with some stickles and shimmerz.  I knew she would be surprised I made her a purple card so did not want to post until after she received it.  I was so happy when she said she loved it.....even tho it was late.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  May God bless each of you in a very special way.

Another grandson's birthday

My grandkids all seem to like Angry Birds.  When I saw a card on Pinterest, I knew I had to make one for my eldest grandchild.  He will be 15 on the 5th and I cannot believe it has been that long since I first layed my eyes on this most precious child.  I love step cards and thought the theme was perfect for a step card.  I drew the little birds (and pig) and paper pieced them together.....shading some with ink and some with chalks.  The sentiment stamp is from on of the first stamp sets I purchased years ago.  His name is cut from the Playground sizzix set, also purchased years ago.  lol  I sure hope my grandson likes this card!

Thank you so much for taking time to stop by.  Hugs to all and God bless!

Sil Card

I was struggling a tad as to just what image to use for my sil's birthday card this year.  So, while visiting with my youngest dd, I mentioned this to her.  She promptly replied "Surely you have a stamp that has something to do with archery or hunting or something he is interested in!"  Immediately I thought of this cute little Robin Hood Edwin stamp. I have had it for a long time and never used it. I colored him with Copics and am thinking I am getting a little better with shading but still need lots of lessons.  Well, not too sure my sil will like my choice but it is what it is!  lol  His favorite color is green, so I did a little overkill with it.  lol  Added some brown cardstock to hope break up the greens.  The sketch was one from Willow Sketchie with the "theme" challenge of bling.  So out came the stickles and glittered pearls.  The little ticket sentiments as well as the half circles are from my new dies from Whimsy.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  God bless you all.
