I cannot believe another grandson has made it to double digits!!! They grow up so fast. He loves squirrels and when I saw this set of stamps from Inky Antics, I knew I had to have them just to make him a card. Will probably never use them again so hope he likes it! lol
I chose to make a swing card as I think he will enjoy the flipping of this poor squirrel. This particular grandson enjoys life and just about everything about it. He always finds ways to enjoy even the simplest of things like flipping this squirrel as fast as he can! lol I have made very few swing cards and do not think he has ever seen one so I am sure he will enjoy it.
First thing I did was search for a sketch that would work for me. I found one from Sunday Sketch and Stamp that I thought would be perfect. I hope it was okay to change the circle into a square. Next came finding papers. I think I went through every paper pad and drawer of paper I have and believe me I have way too much paper to even think about. I finally found these scraps in a drawer so thought I would use them and am pleased with the outcome.
The images are colored with copics and colored pencils. The colors are really off in the pictures. They are so much brighter in real life and the basket is not yellow like it appears to be. I think I spent the most time cutting out the little acorns and leaves. I was beginning to think I would never get done! lol The squirrels are popped for added dimension as well as the acorns. The leaves are glued down the center then I folded the edges up. I also inked all the edges with Chestnut Roan chalk as the final touch. Yes, no stickles or sewing like most my creations!!! Must be sick or something. lol
Thanks to each of you for stopping by. May God bless you always and in special ways! hugs
