Bears for Forever Friends #56

At Forever Friends this fortnight, our challenge is bears!  We are being sponsored by Bugaboo  and I chose this darling Birthday Bear image to use.  I also stamped the balloons from a Popcorn Bear stamp set and fussy cut them.  I colored with copics and highlighted the words with stickles.  The papers are from my scrap drawer from paper that I bought years ago when I first started scrapping.  I thought the two worked well with this theme and image.  The little sunshine charm is from an old stash of charms that I had ordered years ago and have never used any of them.  The little Birthday sentiment is from Whimsy.  I made this for one of the grandsons who will be having a birthday in the next couple months.  I have 6 grandsons that all have birthdays in the next couple months so want to get a jump start on them.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Please come and join us for such a great challenge at Forever Friends!

Card for Michael

I am finally making another card for my dear brother!  I wanted to send him flowers or something to let him know I was thinking of him.  Barb told me that he said he didn't want flowers,  balloons or a stuffed animal and for me to send nothing!  Well, I decided I would send all three on a card.  I picked this little Popcorn Bear stamp because of all the balloons he is holding.  With the balloons and the bear, I have covered two of the three "do not send" items.  I will work on the flower thing with a future card or project for him.  lol  The patterned papers are from my new pad I bought from LOTV.  I really love their papers!   I inked and sewed the edges.  The little banners are from a Whimsy die and glued to some homemade twine.  The circles for the sentiment are from Quikutz and the sentiment is from Clear Dollar stamps. I fussy cut around the bear and balloons and then popped  him off the ovals cut from Spellbinder dies.   I think my brother will get a kick out of this card.  At least I hope it will lift his spirits while he is in the hospital.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hugs to all and God bless.

New items I just had to use!

I ordered some new stamps and paper pads from LOTV.  I just love their products.  They were having a nice sale on some of their older stamps as well as special on a new release.  Needless to say, I just had to take advantage of a bargain! lol    When I received my new things, I decided to make some thing immediately.  So the stamp is new, the papers are new, and some of the flowers are new too....all from LOTV.  The greenery is from an old Quickutz die. I used my nesties for the ovals and thh little banner is a die from Whimsy (I think).   The little heart pearls are  from my old old old stash.  As I was looking for embellishments I saw the little heart pins.  I have never used pins on any of my creations yet so decided I would try them on this. I inked and sewed around the edges.  I do think I did a touch of overkill on the flowers but just couldn't seem to quit. lol  Anyway, not too sure what I will do with this card except add it to my ever growing stash of cards!  Some day my daughter will be so happy to have to sort all this junk out!  lol  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hugs and God bless you.

'Just a note' for FF

This fortnight challenge is again....anything goes at Forever Friends!  Our wonderful sponsors for this challenge are MilkCoffee and Rick St.Dennis.  I chose to use this little singer from Milk Coffee.  My daughter was born on the day Elvis died and she has always kind of been his fan.  I thought I would make her a birthday card with him but her birthday is not until August and she would see it once it posts.  lol  So, that put a whole new dilemma  for me........just what kind of card should have the king grace it!  lol  I finally settled on the kind of 'thinking of you' and used the 'Just a Note' stamp from Studio G.  I had also recently watched a video on how to make a shadow box card and wanted to give it a try.  It has about 1/4 inch recess from the top of the card front .  I did enjoy using this new technique (at least new to me).  "Elvis" is colored with copics and the silver is the Sharpee paint pen.
The flourishes were cut with my CE and the Lovely Floral cartridge.  The little tags are from Magnolia.  I inked the edges with chestnut roan chalk.  The little charm is one I just received last week so was happy to get one used so quickly.  The flowers are from a private challenge I am in where one lady sent out flowers to participants and we have to use them all within a month of receiving.  I used 5 on this card!  Thanks Michelle for such a fun challenge!  Thanks so much for stopping by and may God be with you always.

Thank you card

This is a card I made for a private challenge with a group of other ladies.  One lady sent us each a baggy of flowers and two stamped images.  We have one month to use all the flowers she sent.  This is my first project and I used 7 of her flowers.  I colored the image with copics.  I think LOTV has the cutest stamps and I really enjoyed this challenge.  The papers were some I just bought from our lss that were on sale for 55% off.  The large heart die cut is also from my findings at that sale.  I inked the edges and sewed around most of them.  Tho you can hardly notice the border punch I did use one across the bottom.  The sentiment stamp is from Just Rite.  I thought the pearls were a little different touch for me to use instead of stickles everywhere.   Thank you all so much for stopping by.  May God always watch out for each of you.

Valentines for my girls

I just had to use some of my new items I bought from our lss that had a huge sale.....55% off everything in the store except for the Copic markers.  I bought several Quikutz dies..... which one was for making the pillow box.  I also bought two different sets of heart dies.  I used the med size out of each set to decorate these boxes.  I also used the new little Tilda stamp (pink one) that I just received in the mail.  The flowers were from my stash of plenty. lol  I colored the images with copics. I used a little stickles and ink to accent the hearts.  I have filled these little pillow boxes with goodies and I do hope my grand daughters enjoy receiving them.  I do not know why their skin looks so splotchy in the photos.  I have retaken them several times with the same result.  They do not look this way in person.  I do hope they are not lost in customs for too long. lol Thank you all for stopping by.  Hugs to all and God bless each of you.

Anniversary card for FF

This card was made for the challenge at Forever Friends this round for Ribbon or Lace.  I also searched You Tube for something new to try for another challenge group I am in.  The challenge in this group is to find something you have never done before and then post the inspiration it came from.  I want to thank Luv Lee Scrappin for inspiring me to attempt to create something new.  I had never heard of this type of easel card before and was amazed by hers the moment it popped up on the screen.

Our sponsor this week at FF is Pink Gem Designs.  We got to choose out images and I really liked these cute little birds for my anniversary card.   I colored them with copics and colored pencils.  I added paper flowers where stamped flowers were.  I popped parts of the images for more dimension so they would show better since this is a shadow box card.  The lace is just a small scrap I had left and almost tossed.  lol  I used MS punches for the leaves and small butterfly.  The ribbon on the lace and around the inner as well as the outer edges of the shadow is new.  I used TH distress tool on the edges and then inked in Chestnut Roan.  The pp are from a mini stack by My Minds Eye. The two hearts on the bottom are an old sizzlet die. Added a few beads and of course stickles and calletd this card done.  lol  It is no where near as pretty as the one from the video but I am happy that I tried something new and it turned out at all.  lol  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Please come join us at FF for this fun challenge!  Many hugs to you all and may God be with you in whatever you do.

Wishing You Happiness card

This is a card I made for a challenge group I am in.  The challenge is to use something new you got for Christmas. (if you didn't receive some scrappy gifts, then you were to use the newest thing from your stash).  Well, I did not receive scrappy items so I chose to use this little Tilda stamp I received last week.  I ordered with the idea of making my sister a card.....so here it is.  lol I colored her with copics.  The sentiment and die are from Whimsy.  The tag die is also new from Magnolia.  The little heart doilys are some I have had forever from MS.  The charm and ribbon are some of the first ones I bought when I started making cards several years ago.  And the little hearts are from a punch that I forgot I even owned until I was digging thru my punches looking for something else.  lol  My sister was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer.  I sent her a get well card already so this one just wishes her happiness.  I do hope it brings a smile to her face when she sees this cute little Tilda.

Thank you all for stopping by and may God always fill your hearts with His love.

A I......Card for my brother

Anything Goes is the challenge at Artistic Inspirations for this fortnight!  We have two wonderful sponsors...Bugaboo and StitchyBear.  I chose this cute little image from Stitchy Bear because I wanted to make my brother a card to let him know I am thinking of him.  He was diagnosed with lung cancer just before Christmas and is facing surgery and then long period of treatments.  When I saw this little image I thought it would give my brother a little smile.

I also wanted it to be a more clean and simple card so didn't add too many embellishments.  I colored the image with copics and used colored pencils for a little highlights.  The papers are scraps from other projects.  I sewed and inked the edges as you can see.  A very simple card but full of lots of love and prayers!  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hugs and may God bless you all.

Forever Friends Favorite Embellishments

At Forever Friends this fortnight, the challenge is to use your favorite embellishment.  Well, me being me,......someone who does not make decisions.......cannot really decide what my favorite is! We have two wonderful sponsors for this challenge... Meljens and Whoopsi Daisy.  I  picked one of the  images offered to us from  Meljens.  I am still learning the art of trying to color digis with copics and didn't smear this one so much so guess I am learning little by little.  lol  My sister had surgery this past Friday and I thought this image would work well for a get well card. I think the hardest part of making this card was cutting out around the image.   I wanted to make it a clean and simple card so did not add one of my favorite embellishments....flowers!  I did dig out the embossing folders, which I rarely let out of their box, and made the white background. The patterned papers are from a new little 6x6 pad from My Mind's Eye.  I think it is an older pad but I just got it so it is new to me!  lol   I did ink the edges and sewed around them which are two of my favorite embellishments.  Then came stickles which is at the top of my list on favorites too.  I used two different MS punches for the borders and a Nestie die for the sentiment.  The image and the sentiment are popped for a more 3-D look.  Finishing it off with a large bow, I called it done.  I so hope it will bring some cheer to my sister.  She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and needs lots of prayers.  My brother was diagnosed with lung cancer just before Christmas so Please keep them both  in your thoughts and prayers.  Thank you so much for stopping by and thank you even more if you take a moment to lift my family members up to our Lord for healing.  Hugs to all and God bless each of you.

Forever Friends challenge # 52 Ruth's Birthday

I cannot believe my second grandchild is entering her teen years!  Over at Forever Friends, the challenge this fortnight is sponsored by OPC Studio & Delicious Dooodles.  I chose this particular image form DD for my grand daughter.  She loves horses so am hoping she will like this card.  I used scraps from other projects.  The center flower is from some winnings I received several years ago.  The numbers are from old set of Cuttlebug dies that I thought I need to dust off and use.  lol  It is new for me to use digi stamps.  I had tried a couple years ago and just never got the hang of coloring them without streaking.  I am now learning more and trying different techniques.  The ribbon is also a newer one that I bought from Michael's when they had it on sale before Christmas.  As you can see, I sewed and inked the edges. And since this is a girly card....I got to use lots of flowers and stickles!  lol  I hope to see lots of you over to Forever Friends for this challenge!  Thanks for stopping by and hugs to all.  God bless you all in 2013!

I colored this little guy with colored pencils because I am still learning the fine ability of coloring digis with copics.....and not learning none too fast mind you.  lol  I mounted him on an "Action Wobble" so he also dances as he strums along. The sentiment stamp is from Jusr Right stamps.  I inked the edges and sewed as you can see.  The little music note punches and guitar charm finish it off......I hope.  lol  I have a grandson that likes frogs so am hoping he will like this little dancing fellow if he happens to end up in the grandson's mail box.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  May God bless you all in 2013!  hugs

Tag challenge for Artistic Inspirations

The challenge this fortnight from Artistic Inspirations is to make a tag or book mark.  We have three wonderful sponsors this time.....QKR, Eureka, and Gingerloft.  I chose to use this tag from Gingerloft.  I think it was a great finish to the front of my book.
This album was made for a swap I am hosting.  We each were to make a mini Christmas album.  We then drew names and Justy will receive mine.  I sure hope she likes what I have made.   The papers are just some odds and ends I had laying around in anticipation of being used.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid.  The Merry Christmas sentiment is cut and stamped from Whimsy.

There are two tags that pull out of the front.
The second and third pages are created with really no photos places.  The fireplace is cut from a Magnolia ticket die.  The wreath spray and tree are made from punches.  The little stocking are fuzzy little buttons.  I think they are so cute!  The little lamp on the mantle is from a Cricut cartridge my niece owns.  Thanks Tauna for cutting it out for me.

The lamp pulls out from behind the fireplace for a tag to put photos on.  The little fold out strip comes out of the pocket.  both sides are covered in pps so hopefully will give Justy plenty of space for pictures.
The 4th and 5th pages are again hidden photo areas.  The sentiments are rubons that I found buried in my stash.  The little charm and Santa stickers were also found in this buried treasure box.  lol  The lacie border is another Magnolia die.

The folding tag pulls out on the left side while the right side has a fold out album when you untie the ribbon.
The last pages are quite simple.  The two little snowman stickers were again from stash.  I made the stripped pockets and then added the photo frames on top.   Justy can easily slide a photo under the ribbons if she wants.

Each side has three tags.  Each tag has a double punched snowflake added to both sides.  Then the snowflakes are coated with stickles for an extra shine.

I have inked all the edges and added stickles where I deemed fit.  I enjoyed making this little album and I sure hope Justy enjoys using it. Please come join the fun this fortnight at Artistic Inspirations!

Thanks to all the ladies that participated in this swap.  And thanks to everyone who took time to view it.  Hugs to all and may God bless us all.

My First DT card for Forever Friends!

Yes, I am now on the DT for Forever Friends.....the home of these darling bears!  I have a few of these little bears and I love them.  I am really excited about being on DTs again and hope all works out that I can fulfill my obligations.  I used scrap papers once again for this card.  I also used my new Whimsy die for the sentiment.  The tiny candy canes throughout the flowers are some that I have had for years.  They show up much better in person than in the picture.  I inked around the edges, sewed and then stickled.  I had a lot of fun creating this card for Forever Friends and I hope everyone will join us this fortnight.  Our challenge this time is to make a Christmas Card!  I know you probably are hustling to get some finished so take a few minutes to play along with us!  Our sponsors for this challenge are

My First DT card for Artistic Inspirations!!!

I feel so blessed this past couple weeks!  I have been chosen to be on two design teams!  The first is for Artistic Inspirations.  It is a weekly challenge but there are two teams so I just need to make a card for every other challenge. I am hoping I can make a card every two weeks without stressing too much.  lol  This time the challenge is Ribbon and Lace.
 Our sponsors are :
Paints Daily
I used the vintage garden clock from The Dragon's Lair.  I thought it would make a nice "Thinking of You" card because anytime is a great time to think of someone.  lol  I lightly shaded it with copic markers and then inked everything with Chestnut Roan ink by Color Box.  All the papers other than the card base are scraps from some other cards I have made the past couple weeks. I used my handy dandy Tim Holtz distressing tool to rough the edges before inking.  I sewed the edges and then added a little stickles to highlight things.  Since I really do not have a stash of a lot of lace and since I have vowed to not buy too much unless I really need it, then I opted to use a MS punch for my lace.  The "Miss You " sentiment is cut from a die from Whimsy and the other sentiment die is from Magnolia.  I added the glittered pearls for added accent and decided I better stop before I have it way too gaudy.  lol  Anyway, please come over and join us in this awesome challenge!!!  ARTISTIC INSPIRATIONS!

Thank you all for stopping by.  Hugs and God bless you!

Penguin Christmas

Here is the last card for the year for the Christmas card challenge group I am in.  I chose this darling little penguin from Wild Rose.  I used the sizzlet snowflake die to add little white leaves to the rose as well as for the two snowflakes.  They are actually two dies put together then stickled.  I then added tiny rhinestones to the tips and a larger one to the centers. The sentiment die is from Spellbinders as well as the circle die. The papers were some scraps I had stashed from other creations.  The little fellow is colored with copics and actually has a tad more shading to him than shows up in the photo.  I inked the edges and added a little ribbon and lace.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  God bless and many hugs to each of you.

Brother's Birthday Card

Well, I think this is the last birthday card I am "required" to make until January when it will start all over again.  lol  This is for one of my brothers who so happens to love eagles.  I gave it a try to color "natural" things but am ready to go back to cutsie and not real life.   lol  I have know idea how to color animals so they look right but I think my brother will like it no matter how it looks.  (hoping anyway lol).  I used copics to color him.  I thought a simple step card would work well with this stamp because it is so big.  I inked the edges but made this mainly while staying at my mom's and did not have my sewing machine with me so no sewing this time.  I must say it does look a bit unfinished to me without the stitching but again my brother will like it in spite of my lack of embellishing.  The trees are old Sizzix dies.  The sentiment die is a new one from Whimsy.  That is about all I can say about this simple card.  Thank you for stopping by.  God bless and hugs to all.

Jonathan's Birthday

This is the birthday card I made for one of my grandsons.  I cannot believe it was 9 years ago this little fellow came into this world and won his grannies heart forever.  He has been a joy from day one and always keeps us laughing.  Since he loves koalas so much I ordered the Magnolia stamp with Tilda holding this little guy.  I could not use Tilda for my grandson's card so cut her loose!  lol  This little Bildmalarna stamp was happy to take him off her hands.  lol  The papers are scraps from another card I made this month.  The little pennants are from a new die I just bought.  I inked the edges and then sewed.  The little charm just had to be added too.  And you know I can hardly make a card without stickles so added some to the number.  He opened this tonight when we celebrated his special day and he seemed to really like it.  Thank you for stopping by.  God bless you always.

My winnings!

I am so excited!  I usually do not enter contests like this and if I do I never win. I thank Bev for showing it to me because I entered a contest at Kathy's Cozies and I won!!!  She made me this awesome garbage bag for my Scrap-Ma-Bob!  I got to choose the fabric for it and believe me she has tons of fabric to choose from.  When I saw the little froggies, I just had to have them.  lol   She makes covers for all kinds of scrapping tools and such.  I can hardly wait to get my little old hands on this but am afraid I might not want to fill it with trash!  lol  Anyway, just wanted to show off my fancy trash bag.   Bev, thank you so much for leading me to Kathy.  She is a real sweetie to do business with.  And very prompt in making you items.  Thanks to Kathy for giving me the opportunity to win!  I am very blessed and I praise God for all He does (even more so when I don't win!)  lol  Hugs to all

Advent Calendar

After watching a You Tube video on making your own Advent calendars, I decided to make one for each of my grand daughters.  This is my first attempt at creating something like this and although it took me a long time (mainly because I am so slow), I had fun making it.  The first thing I did after making the box grid, was search for a sketch that I thought would work well with this project.  I do hope it will okay for their challenge because it is not a card and am not sure if they will accept that.  Anyway,  this little Tilda stamp I purchased just to use on something for my youngest grand daughter as she just got glassed this past year.  I used several dies on this project from Spellbinders to Sizzlets.  I inked around most the edges and did a little sewing here and there.  I thought the little jingle bells would me a nice finishing touch for the girls. And of course there is lots of stickles here and there!  lol  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hugs and God bless you all.
