Just a quick card I threw together before we head out for the weekend. I only got 5 cards finished while on my little retreat with relatives, that I have to now get some done as quick as I can. I love the little images from the Lily of the Valley nativity set. I used some scraps from another card.....added ribbon, punched edges, flowers and of course stickles. The little charm has been in my stash forever as well as the roses. I also used a precious crocheted flower that my Indiana buddy made for me. Thanks so much April.

Stocking Gift Card Holders

Well I did not get as much accomplished as I had hoped while on my little retreat but boy did we have fun. I did manage to get 5 cards done (will post later) and these card holder ornaments for my family. I usually give each person money or gift cards. I also try to make them each an ornament. The past few years I have combined the two and this is what they will find hanging on my tree come Christmas morning. I could not find a stocking die or one that I like on the cricut cartridges that I have, so opted to just hand cut everything. And I must add, since my niece was so kind to leave me a comment to remind me.....I did not cut them out by myself! My niece and my sister helped too! And I will also add, I greatly appreciated all the help! However, I did not appreciate making me laugh so I lost games! lol I did use an old quickutz die for the name tags. We did a few challenges while on the island and "buttons" was the one I fulfilled with these. A little fake fur, twine, a couple jingle bells and they are complete. Now to find the $$$ to fill them all! lol

Challenges :

Crafty Catz-anything goes

Fairy tale- gift or gift box

Inspire Me Friday/ Joyful Stamper
- anything goes

Jingle Bells- Wrap it up....although this challenge is to make cards, I am hoping my stockings will be okay too!

Ornament swap

Here are the ornaments I made for a little swap we are planning at our island get-away next week. I wish I could have got a better photo without all the glare and making the images look so washed out. Can hardly believe Barb will be here in 8 days!!!

I used a mini magnolia stamp I bought last year to use on my grand daughters gift box ornaments. I had these pictured so different in my mind so am a bit disappointed int the finished product. I hope the others will them in spite of how I feel. I used a quickutz die for the trees, handmade the little bench and colored the image using copics and colored pencils. I hadd liquid pearls for the snow in the trees and on the ground. Plut liquid applique on her coat for the furry effect. Then just had to add a little stickles here and there because have to have stickles....lol I through in some fake snow as the finishing touch before sealing them in the ball. On the back I stamped a verse about Christmas. You can see I embellished with paper roses, punched leaves, ribbon and of course more stickles. I can hardly wait to see what the other ladies have done for their ornaments!

Christmas tag swap

In just two weeks from today, my sis-in-law is flying in from Oregon to spend a week with me! I can hardly wait. My niece and I are planning our annual trip to Ritter Island to make Christmas cards and gifts. Barb will fly in on a Wednesday and we will spend Thursday and Friday visiting my parents. Friday evening we will head to the island for a few days of playing. My niece and I are planning games and prizes and hopefuly lot of fun things for us to do while there. Another niece (and possibly her daughter) from Utah is planning on attending this little get away too. I can hardly wait. I have to return Barb to the airport on the following Wednesday. :-(

Anyway, to get to the tags......lol

We have decided to do a couple swaps for when we get together. Last year several of us did a tag swap and it seemed to be a hit so are doing it again this year. Bev (my buddy in Ohio), my sis and her daughter, my niece and her sister are all involved in it this year. We are to make four tags for each person. These are the ones I have done. I sure hope they like them and will use them to label their gifts. I used the snowman nativity stamp set from TAC. I cut the little cards off my newest Cricut cartridge...... Life's a Party. Of course I had to add good ole stickles! lol

Four of us also chose to do a handmade ornament exchange again this year. So now I am off to get them started. Will post photos when I get mine done.

Am entering in a few challenges:

Oldie But a Goodie
-let is snow

Sassy Cheryl's- stump the boss and anything goes

Grandson's birthday card

I made this card for my pirate lovin' grandson. I do think he is outgrowing his love for pirates but I had bought this stamp with him in mind and figured I would make him one last pirate card. For 4 years in a row he wanted a Pirate birthday and this is the first year he said he was tired of them. lol Oh well, will make something new in a year for him. lol I used this darling stamp from Lily of the Valley. Raided my left over Halloween stickers for the skull and crossbones and added a couple googly eyes to set it off. Used and old Quickutz die for the flourishes and had to just stickle them also. I used a MS border punch for the border around the image and the striped paper. My friend and my niece chose a sketch to use and we are all making cards off the same sketch. Can't wait to see how their's turn out. I know they will both be awesome!

Challenges I am entering are:

card for my dearest sis!

I made this card for my favorite sister although she is really my sister in law! She is also one of the bestest friends I have ever had and she will never know how much she really means to me! I love you Barb!

Today is her birthday and I sure hope she got my card in time for her special day. I used my new Bildmalarna stamp. I also added a pretty crocheted flower a good friend made and sent to me a long time ago. Barb loves glitter and sparkle even more than I do so added lots of stickles. I pray her day was one of the best she has ever had! (it is for me as my brother is giving her a plane ticket to Idaho so she can spend a week here with me! I am so excited! She will be here the first week of December!)

The photo is not very good as it looks all washed out. I was in a hurry to get it mailed to her that I didn't check to see how the picture turned out.

a simple "Thinking of You" card

Here is a simple card I made for the lady in Montana. She said she would like a few simple, smaller cards to send to her friends. I have a hard time making the smaller ones as I want to add just too many embellies and there is not quite the room. Plus she did want them a little plainer. Well, plain it what she gets with this one. lol Anyway, I used a stamp that I have had colored for quite awhile but did nothing with. The borders are from a MS punch. The paper is from a "My Minds Eye" pad that I have had for a long time too but never used. I hope she likes what I have done with this one. Now two more plain to go and then a fun one again! lol

Thinking of You for Uncle Lew

My cousin called the other day to let me know that my uncle (Mom's only brother) had fallen and broke his hip. I have not seen him in several years as his daughters moved him away from this area to be closer to them. He is 92 now and lives in an assisted living home. I wanted to just let him know I was thinking and praying for a speedy recovery for him. He always loved fishing so I thought this little guy might give him a smile and maybe remind him of "the good ole days". He is my mothers only brother so the only blood uncle I had. (Dad had all sisters.) Uncle Lew has always had a special place in my heart. I really miss taking my mom to visit and then listening to them relive their childhood memories and talk about their parents. My sister and I used to just sit and listen and enjoy learning so much about their young years and the parents gramma and grampa were.

I really hate the plastic that the embellishments come on when the flash seems to catch them better than anything else about a card! lol The fly in the lower left corner is one my little nephew made for me to use on cards and layouts several years ago. He was just learning fly tying.

Creative Stamp Friends- something for a man

60th Anniversary card.

This is another custom order I have for that special lady in Montana. I was at a loss as to just what to make for a 6oth anniversary so sure hope she likes how the end product came out. I am pretty nervous on this one as it took me so long to come up with an idea and then try to execute this idea into reality, that I have no time to make another if this one is not ok. Oh the stress I put myself under instead of just playing and having fun! lol Anyway, I just made a simple step card but added "braces" to the bottom so it won't "step out" too far. lol I used the cricut to cut out the names and the 60. For "Love", I had to dig out the old sizzlet dies. A couple MS butterfly punches and some flowers finished it off. Well, actually lots and lots of stickles finished it off. lol I do hope the lady who ordered this and the couple who may receive it, are blessed by it.

This is another case of my mind deceiving my hands....convincing them that this will work out and be wonderful. lol When I bought this stamp, I wanted to make a card for a dear friend, but now not too sure I will send it to her. She raises cows as pets.....having them all named and everything. lol In my mind I thought the bright pink and black would be just perfect for this image after I got it colored. Happy Birthday Jodi!

My eldest daughter turns 34 this month! I cannot believe how fast the time has flown. I remember so well the first time I saw her how excited I was to have my little girl! Her brother was just two years and she was his baby from the start! Oh the memories of so many years and yet it seems like yesterday. I cannot believe how old my kids are making me! lol Anyway, this is the card I made for her. I showed it to her daughters and they really liked it so am hoping she will too.

Happy Birthday wonderful daughter! I love you!

As you can see I use the darling stamp from CC Designs. I thought the "sweets" paper from Nana's Kitchen was so cute I just had to use it. By the time I got the card done, you couldn't see all that much. lol I used one of my new Nestabilities for the doily circle. I think I will enjoy the new nesties I have purchased if I can just remember to use them. When I found the sketch I wanted to use, I pictured this card looking so much cuter than the finished product but then again, my mind lies to me about how wonderful things are going to turn out! lol As usual, I had to finish it all up with lots and lots of stickles.

My parents anniversary card

My parents celebrated 48 years together on the 6th. I made them this card and used the new Lily of the Valley image because her holding his hand really touched me. It just reminded me of the gentle love these two people have for each other. I hope some day my children will look at Jon and I with the same awe I have for my parents. I used some paper from a kit that I had forgot I even had. I also use the larger roses that I have always shied away from thinking they were too large for cards. The little heart charm was one of the first charms I bought way back when. Of course I had to use stickles on the flowers as well on the 48th. It looks a lot better in person than in these pictures.

A little Birthday greeting

My new friend in Montana that bought my first card ever, has ordered a few more for Birthdays. So I am throwing some together for her to choose from. Here is the first one. I used this little cutie from Whipper Snapper. What better way to spend a warm summer day than taking your kitty for a stroll! lol I love their stamps. I first found the sketch I wanted to use and then got busy. I am loving the stamp set I bought last month of tickets. As you can see I added stickles to the flowers and the ticket and even to the background paper on the front.
