Kindergarten graduation

This is the second layout for my oldest grandson that deals with his graduation oh so many years ago!  He was so excited to get his diploma that he ran as fast as he could when his name was called.  He was so proud and so were we.  lol  The sketch is one we are using in a small group I am in.  I really struggled doing it as I am more of a symmetric type and usually do not use just strips as papers to decorate.   The pp are from my stash from years ago.   I think I may have even purchased some when he actually graduated!  The lettering is cut from sizzlet dies.  The banners are from the new Whimsy dies I just bought last week.  I think I have one more layout of him opening gifts and I  will be finished with this little project.  Thank you so much for stopping by and God bless you.

Challenges:

Oldie but a Goodie-banners everything on this layout is over six months old....including the photos  lol

Try it on Tuesdays-anything goes

Christmas challenge card for May-June

I cannot believe how fast this past week had gone by!  DH was out of town for the week and I planned to play in my room a lot while he was away.  I even went and had over 200 photos printed.  Oh such big dreams I had last Friday when he left.  Well, this is the sum total of my scrapping and it was done today....after he came home.  lol

I made this for a Christmas card challenge group I am in.  The cute image is from LOTV stamps.  I just love these stamps.  There is a whole set of Nativity kids.  The main sentiment is from the Snowman nativity set from TAC.  The little banner stamp is my newest set of stamps and it is from Whimsy.  The patterned papers are from my scrap box.  I had to dig deep to find that charm.  Not sure where it came from or for home many years I have had it hidden.  lol  I used nesties for the circles.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  God bless each and every one.

Graduation cards

My dad asked me to make him a couple graduation cards.  I have had these Mag stamps forever but never used them so was quite excited......first to think he wanted me to make him some cards and second to finally use these darling stamps.  I did add a mouth to them because he had stated before he wasn't fond of the "stamps with out faces".  lol  I colored them with copics with a few pencil highlights and popped them up for more dimension.  I used the school colors for each. The paper with diplomas all over it was found buried deep in a pile I have not even looked at in over 2 years!  You wouldn't believe the awesome papers I came across.  I couldn't believe how much nicer the older papers are.....heavy and so easy to work with.  I added the girl's name but just put the boys initials since his name was a bit long.  I also made them step cards as that style seemed to work with my simple plans.  The letters are die cuts from a sizzlet set.  A little stickles and ribbon and I called them done.  lol

Thanks so much for stopping by.  With dh away for the week, I am hoping to get more scrapping done!  God bless you all.

Birthday card

This is the birthday card I made for one of my sisters.  She wanted a step card so she could have a pattern.  I made it fairly plain so it would be easier for her to measure the cuts and fold and all.  I used this cute little Bildy stamp that I have had forever but used very little.  The pps are scraps from other projects.  The sentiment stamp is new!!!  I love new stamps!!! lol  I added blingz to the flowers and stickles to the leaves.  I hope she likes it and can cope the pattern.  Hugs to all that stop by and prayers for God to always bless!

Astronaut

This is a layout I made for my oldest grandson from way back when.......his kindergarten graduation.  The kids all did an awesome job and put on a wonderful performance.  Then their teacher asked each child what they wanted to be when they grow up.  It was no surprise to us that he chose to be an astronaut.  The past couple years he has really enjoyed learning all about the stars and planets.  He also loves airplanes and such.  I still have the rest of his graduation to scrap.....wonder if I will have it done before his high school graduation comes.  lol  Since I had not unpacked my Cricut from my last jaunt to the rockhouse, I had to get it set up and ready.  I used it to cut the astronaut, the stars and all lettering.  I then chalked the little astronaut to give him a touch of color.  Of course I just had to use stickles so added it freely to all the stars.  Some of the letters, the astronaut and the rocket are all popped for the 3D look.  The borders are a MS punch.

Thanks for stopping by and may God always bless you.

Another Grandson birthday card.

This is one more grandson birthday card.  Still need one more before the end of the month and will be good on grandson cards until July!  This particular grandson loves penguins.  He saw the penguin paper in my scrap pile and smiled and reminded me his birthday was coming up.  lol  It was left over from several years ago when I did a zoo album.   I dug out the sizzix dies for his name and the balloons.  Haven't used my dies much since I got my cricut so it was kind of fun to get back to the basics.  lol  I also used nestie dies for the circles.    The glittered brads and ribbon are out of my stash from who knows when!  lol   The balloon strings are some old twine too.  Seems most of this card is from stash that is at least two years old but probably more.  Thanks for stopping by and may God always bless you.

Here is my daughter's birthday card for this year.  I cannot believe my baby is 32!!!  Man I am getting old.

I think I kind of did an overkill with the embellies but it is what it is!  lol  This is one of my newer stamps from Magnolia. She is suppose to be for Valentines but I thought a basket full of love would be perfect for my girl. Everything else I used is from at least last years stash.  I am still trying to use some of my older stash. You can see that I did my favorite things by sewing and then tons of stickles!   Now I have two more birthday cards and at least one Mother's Day card I need to get done this week!  Yikes, I am so far behind I may never catch up!

Birthday card in pinks

A friend of mine would like me to make her a few cards done in pinks and mauves.
she wants 3 brithday and 3 thinking of you  so you may get bored by the time I am finished with 6 pink cards!  lol  I ordered some cardstock online only to have it arrived in more orange shades than pinks.  Sure looked more like the rose shades in their photos and by the names, I really couldn't tell what I was ordering.  So, I went to my lss only to find that cardstock there is now over a dollar a sheet!  I really need to find a place to buy in bulk at a great discount.  lol  This is the first one I have finished.  I used one of my new Bildie stamps and colored her with my copics.  I also used scraps of pp from another project......yes I am using up some old stash and scraps again!   I added a few flowers, pearls and of course stickles!  I hope she likes this creation!  Thanks for stopping by and may God always bless you!

Another grandson birthday card

This the card I made for my grandson whose birthday is next month.  Cannot believe I am so far ahead this year.  Usually I am hustling to get them done by the day of their birthdays!  lol  Andre` loves dragons so when I saw this cutie from Magnolia, I just had to order it for his card.  I colored it with copics.  The pps are from my scrap box....trying to use things up out of my stash more.  I pennants, name and numbers were cut our with my CE.  I used a MS punch for the border and then two Nestibilities dies and a very old old sticker for the sentiment circle.  I think those round stickers were some of the first things I bought when I first started scrapping and never used hardly any.  So, with the vow to dig deep in my stash, I snagged one for this card.  Thank you all for stopping by.  Hugs and God bless.

Patches

Last year I took my grand daughters on a little vacation to the Oregon coast.  While on our way we stopped to visit relatives along the way.  This is my nephew and his wife's horses.  My oldest grand daughter loves horse but had really never rode one.  When Bill and Jan offered to give her a ride, she was so excited.  On the way home from our trip I asked each girl what they enjoyed most.  Ruth had no hesitation to say the highlight of the entire trip was riding Patches.  I thank Bill and Jan for not only being very gracious hosts, but for being so kind and making this such a special event for my grand daughters.  You are both awesome!!!

For this layout I used way too many pps!  It seems way busy to me but Ruth liked it and that is what is important.  I used my newest MS punch for the borders.  The sketch and inspiration came from LS.  The two tags in the pocket have photos on them as well as hidden journaling.  I did ink all the edges and of course had to use stickles!  The lettering and flourishes were cut with my CE.  I am really enjoying the Cricut Craft Room and learning how to use the cricut better.  Thank you so much for stopping by.  Hugs to you all and God bless.

Smile layout

This is my youngest grand daughter that will be 11 years old this summer.  Can't believe how fast they grow up and can't believe how far behind I am in scrapping their lives! Of course, I do not scrap chronologically.  I look thru thousands of photos until something motivates me and this week it was these baby photos. I am still 11 years+ behind but at least I am scrapping some again.  lol    The sketch is from Sketch Savvy and a small challenge group I am in is using it for this month's challenge.  For this layout, I used pp from a paper pad I bought at Wal Mart.  I thought the "word" paper was perfect for these pictures.  I used lots of flowers which some I have had in my stash forever and some are handmade just for this layout.  I used my CE to cut the title and some flowers.  The larger oval tags are a sizzix die and the smaller oval is a quickutz die.  I inked the edges, added some ribbon and sewing to finish it off.  Thank you so much for stopping by.  God bless.

Challenges I am entering:

Upward Basketball

This is a layout I made for the challenge at Let's Scrap.  This is my middle grandchild playing basketball.  We were excited that we were able to make it to Nampa to watch him as well as three of his brothers.  We don't get to watch them often so this was such a blessing.  I used pp from my stash that I have had for years and do not remember what company they are from.  I used my CE to cut the center matting and "Hoops".  Drug out the old sizzix dies for "Vandals".  Had to dig deep into a mixed box of ribbon to find the one I used.
There is a hidden journal box under the Vandal sign.  Sorry for the glare on the photos but was too cloudy to get a good outside picture.   Thanks so much for stopping by.  May God watch over each of you and keep you safe.

I also used the sketch for a more "girly" card.  The patterned papers are from My Mind's Eye.  The image is colored with copics (just learning how to use them).  The little crocheted flower was a gift from a wonderful  friend...thanks April!  I inked and sewed around the edges too.

Quick little challenge card

This is a birthday card I made for one of "my boys."   He will be 10 in April!  He is my middle grandchild so now over half my grandchildren will be in double digits!  Yikes they make me old!  lol

At Christmas time, I made sketch books for my sister-in-law and my niece, as well as one for me.  We thought we could use them to challenge each other.  Well, Barb, my sil, challenged Tauna and I on Friday night.  We had until tomorrow morning to complete or cards.  Barb chose this sketch which is from Mojo Monday.  I had my dd's four boys over the weekend so rushed thru this card this evening to make sure I was not out of the challenge!  lol  I had talked to the other two ladies and they had already completed their creations.  So here is mine!
I am not sure why it shows a white steak under his hat band and around his face as it is not there in person.  lol  This photo also is a little lighter than the actual card.  I thank each of you for stopping by and I pray God has a special blessing for each of you.

Gramma's lil' Helper

This is a layout I have done for a challenge group I am in.  It is all part of the "get your fanny back to scrapping" vow I took for 2012.  This is one of my youngest dd's lads.  I cannot believe he will be ten years old and I am scrapping toddler things!  I am so far behind but each layout catches me up some.  lol  Anyway, the sketch is from Sketch Savvy.  The papers are from a the "Baby Boy" stack from DCWV.  I cut the letters and border strips all out with my sidekick and sizzix dies.  I used my CE and the Cricut Class room to cut the pennants out as well as the frames.  I have never used pp to make frames and stuff but think they look okay.  I shaded some white crochet thread with blue and green copics to hang the pennants.  Added a little ink here and there and called it done.  Not sure it is done tho as I think it needs a bit more to really finish it off.  Thanks for stopping by.  God bless each of you!

This is a first for me.....I will enter this layout in some challenges.  I have entered my cards in challenges for a couple years now, but never a layout.  So here is the challenges I am entering.

Wedding Card

My friend in Montana needed a wedding card for her good friend's daughter.  She said her colors are  shades of pink and mauve and would like lots of roses.   I used the darling wedding stamp from Lily of the Valley.  Also dug out my embossing folders from Sizzix, which have not been used in ages.  Added a little trim from a MS punch and inked everything.  Of course, I had to add a little bling so brought out the old BLITZ and smeared over all the flowers then added a little Stickles for the finishing touch.  I chose the "swing" card style for no particular reason other than I made one before and liked the outcome.  I sure hope Chyral likes the outcome of this one!
Thanks so much for stopping by.

hugs and God bless!

Do the math! You will have 100 chances to win free stuff...and good stuff, too! This is also the perfect opportunity to restock your card stash! The first chance comes when you join/follow each blog and leave a comment. The second chance comes when you use the card sketch on each blog to create a card, layout or other project based upon the card sketch appearing on each blog--they are all different! You then must post your creation in the Let's Scrap website gallery, then go back to each blog and leave a second comment linking back to your gallery post. Don't be overwhelmed...you are doing only one card at a time! Our hope is that you will visit every blog, but, remember, you have the whole month of February to do this.

I will be #34 on the hop!

Looking forward to seeing you "at the hop."

Hugs to all and God bless!

Hat-titude

This is my grandson who loves hats and neckties! He is such a sweet little character. He loves life and seems to have ways of entertaining not only himself but everyone else. The papers are from the "GUY" pad I bought last spring. The journal box is hidden under the first picture. The font is from my cricut cartridge "Tear Drop". The stars and font on the journal tag are sizzix. I love these pictures but sure wish they would have been a little clearer.

Thanks for stopping by and God bless each of you.

Be You

As keeping to my vow to scrap more this year, here is my second layout for the year! Man, I am patting myself on the back as this doubled the amount of layouts I think I have done in the past 3 years! lol Anyway, this is my youngest daughter's youngest. He is such a little character. He still loves for you to take pictures of him and is always willing to pose. I used this week's challenge sketch from Let's Scrap.
I did change it a bit by adding the two smaller pictures in the corner. I also hid the journal box under a photo. These pictures were taken last October down in the canyon under Perrine Bridge. The boys love to go there and have picnics.

Thanks for stopping by. God bless.

There is a little group on face book that is having a monthly challenge of making Christmas cards with the hope of getting a few cards made before the Christmas rush! This is my card for January. I used a new stamp that I just received this past month. I am still trying to learn copics so played with them a little. Sentimental Sunday...Snow, Blue or Glitter used blue copics on the image and then also had stickles to the stay and the baby's halo

Finally back to scrapping!

Here is my first layout for 2012! I am excited to get back to it but am also surprised how hard it was to get started. Really feel like a beginner for sure. Anyway, this is my youngest grandchild when he was visiting a couple years ago. My youngest daughter loves spending time with her nieces and nephews and was happy when the 5 nephews got to spend Spring break with her and her family. She had lots of fun things for them to do and one was coloring Easter eggs. Mace took this all too serious but had lots of fun.

Thanks for stopping by. Now off to start a card! lol God bless you.

Starting off the New Year with Birthday card for Grand daughter

Yes, the new year means I need to get started on all the spring birthdays. My eldest grand daughter will be 12 tomorrow. Cannot believe how old my grands are making me!

She loves horses so bought this stamp just for this card. I hope she likes it as much as I thought she would. lol She tends to like the darker colors and teals and browns and such so that is what I chose. The little calendar was a free printout that I found on Pinterest. Am loving all the great finds there. The Birthday sentiment may look a little crooked on the bottom but it is actually mounted on an action wobble so it jiggles when moved. And you can see that I finished it off with stickles as always.

Challenges I am entering are:

Crafty Ribbons- sketch.....which I turned sideways.

Paper Sundaes
- something old-flowers, stickles and die cuts....something new- 3 stamps

Bunny Zoe's Crafts- fancy fold card

Kaboodle Doodles
-celebrations

Cutie Pie
- sentiment

Crafts 4 Eternity- sentiments Thanks Pinky for the heads up!

Thanks for stopping by. May God richly bless your 2012!

Stocking Gift Card Holders

Well I did not get as much accomplished as I had hoped while on my little retreat but boy did we have fun. I did manage to get 5 cards done (will post later) and these card holder ornaments for my family. I usually give each person money or gift cards. I also try to make them each an ornament. The past few years I have combined the two and this is what they will find hanging on my tree come Christmas morning. I could not find a stocking die or one that I like on the cricut cartridges that I have, so opted to just hand cut everything. And I must add, since my niece was so kind to leave me a comment to remind me.....I did not cut them out by myself! My niece and my sister helped too! And I will also add, I greatly appreciated all the help! However, I did not appreciate making me laugh so I lost games! lol I did use an old quickutz die for the name tags. We did a few challenges while on the island and "buttons" was the one I fulfilled with these. A little fake fur, twine, a couple jingle bells and they are complete. Now to find the $$$ to fill them all! lol

Challenges :

Crafty Catz-anything goes

Fairy tale- gift or gift box

Inspire Me Friday/ Joyful Stamper
- anything goes

Jingle Bells- Wrap it up....although this challenge is to make cards, I am hoping my stockings will be okay too!

The Stamp Man- make an ornament

Charisma Cardz- no cards

Ornament swap

Here are the ornaments I made for a little swap we are planning at our island get-away next week. I wish I could have got a better photo without all the glare and making the images look so washed out. Can hardly believe Barb will be here in 8 days!!!

I used a mini magnolia stamp I bought last year to use on my grand daughters gift box ornaments. I had these pictured so different in my mind so am a bit disappointed int the finished product. I hope the others will them in spite of how I feel. I used a quickutz die for the trees, handmade the little bench and colored the image using copics and colored pencils. I hadd liquid pearls for the snow in the trees and on the ground. Plut liquid applique on her coat for the furry effect. Then just had to add a little stickles here and there because have to have stickles....lol I through in some fake snow as the finishing touch before sealing them in the ball. On the back I stamped a verse about Christmas. You can see I embellished with paper roses, punched leaves, ribbon and of course more stickles. I can hardly wait to see what the other ladies have done for their ornaments!

Challenges I am entering:

Christmas tag swap

In just two weeks from today, my sis-in-law is flying in from Oregon to spend a week with me! I can hardly wait. My niece and I are planning our annual trip to Ritter Island to make Christmas cards and gifts. Barb will fly in on a Wednesday and we will spend Thursday and Friday visiting my parents. Friday evening we will head to the island for a few days of playing. My niece and I are planning games and prizes and hopefuly lot of fun things for us to do while there. Another niece (and possibly her daughter) from Utah is planning on attending this little get away too. I can hardly wait. I have to return Barb to the airport on the following Wednesday. :-(

Anyway, to get to the tags......lol

We have decided to do a couple swaps for when we get together. Last year several of us did a tag swap and it seemed to be a hit so are doing it again this year. Bev (my buddy in Ohio), my sis and her daughter, my niece and her sister are all involved in it this year. We are to make four tags for each person. These are the ones I have done. I sure hope they like them and will use them to label their gifts. I used the snowman nativity stamp set from TAC. I cut the little cards off my newest Cricut cartridge...... Life's a Party. Of course I had to add good ole stickles! lol

Four of us also chose to do a handmade ornament exchange again this year. So now I am off to get them started. Will post photos when I get mine done.

Am entering in a few challenges:

Oldie But a Goodie
-let is snow

Sassy Cheryl's- stump the boss and anything goes

Tip Top Tuesday- tags

Bows and Berries- tags

Stamps R Us- bling it on

Thank you so much for stopping by. God bless!

Grandson's birthday card

I made this card for my pirate lovin' grandson. I do think he is outgrowing his love for pirates but I had bought this stamp with him in mind and figured I would make him one last pirate card. For 4 years in a row he wanted a Pirate birthday and this is the first year he said he was tired of them. lol Oh well, will make something new in a year for him. lol I used this darling stamp from Lily of the Valley. Raided my left over Halloween stickers for the skull and crossbones and added a couple googly eyes to set it off. Used and old Quickutz die for the flourishes and had to just stickle them also. I used a MS border punch for the border around the image and the striped paper. My friend and my niece chose a sketch to use and we are all making cards off the same sketch. Can't wait to see how their's turn out. I know they will both be awesome!

Challenges I am entering are:

CLP- sketch.....hope it is ok to do the image in a round forum instead of square.

Our Craft Lounge- stress and distressed

Totally Parer Crafts-stiching

Wags'n Whiskers- some black and ribbon or pearls

CMC Copic Challenge-Boys Boys Boys

Card Makin Mamas- cut it out....punches, dies etc.

card for my dearest sis!

I made this card for my favorite sister although she is really my sister in law! She is also one of the bestest friends I have ever had and she will never know how much she really means to me! I love you Barb!

Today is her birthday and I sure hope she got my card in time for her special day. I used my new Bildmalarna stamp. I also added a pretty crocheted flower a good friend made and sent to me a long time ago. Barb loves glitter and sparkle even more than I do so added lots of stickles. I pray her day was one of the best she has ever had! (it is for me as my brother is giving her a plane ticket to Idaho so she can spend a week here with me! I am so excited! She will be here the first week of December!)

The photo is not very good as it looks all washed out. I was in a hurry to get it mailed to her that I didn't check to see how the picture turned out.

Challenges I am entering:

Challenge up Your Life-color

Totally Paper Crafts- glitter

Hanna and Friends-glitter

Our Craft Lounge-colors

Paper Pretties- embellish it!

The Paper Shelter- anything goes

Thank you for stopping by. May God bless you all in a special way!
