Anessa! Just for you!

Since you asked, I will show a few more things I did for Christmas. I have not really done too much since but am hoping to get busy and actually scrap in my grandkids' books. I have not done a single layout in way over a year. Here are a couple picture frames I altered for my son and oldest daughter.



My youngest has always loved monkeys so I knew I had to try to alter this little wooden clock I found at Michael's. Her boys were so excited when they saw it and could hardly wait for her to open it Christmas morning.




I also crocheted her this little fellow that was equally awaited her opening. lol
The only thing I have attempted since Christmas was this birthday card for my oldest grand daughter. She wanted an easel card with a horse on it. These are also some of her favorite colors. I really struggled making this one as I really really wanted to do pink and frilly! lol

Now on to some serious business here. lol After Christmas I found this in the back of my car. The only clue I have as to where it came from is a note written on the top of the box. If anyone has any clue at all as to who got into my car without permission (lol), please let me know. My entire family is stumped as to who did it. At first I "blamed" my children and DH, but they have now convinced me they know just as much as I do. I love it and would love to thank the person responsible! So any and all info would be wonderful! Thanks.

A Third Jewelry box

I had one more box I had bought so thought I would make it up too. I used another Mag stamp and the same paper pad as on the other two. I love the old fashioned papers in this pad. I inked the edges and added a little glitter and flowers and the same as the other two. I did have a lot of fun making these and am sitting here wishing I would have bought a few more. lol Not sure what I will do with so many but know someone will end up with them in a few weeks. lol

Jewelry box for Christmas

I saw these small wooden jewelry boxes in the unfinished wood section at Hobby Lobby and decided to try to alter it for a Christmas gift. I have a certain someone in mind for it but not sure she will like it (but sure am hoping she will)! lol I first stained it and then started covering parts. I then spent several hours looking for a sketch to make an easel card for the top. I added a magnet to keep it shut when lying flat so won't just flop around when they open the lid. She loves flowers and bling so added plenty! I also inked all the edges for a more antique look. I added a little heart charm to finish it off. I did have fun working on this and hope to make a few more if this one goes over well. I am entering in the following challenges:

Yet, another altered gift tin!

Last night I got a little time to start one more tin. I now only have 11 to go so am getting there! lol This is one for the boys just not sure which boy will get it. I used Diamond dust on the hairy ribbon to help make it sparkle more. Also added it to the snowflakes as well as a touch of stickles.

Happy Birthday to my brother

In a private challenge, we were to create a card for a male and it had to include a tree (trees). Since my brother's birthday is this month, it didn't take me long to decide who my card would be for. I chose the cute little moose and sentiment from Dollar Stamps. I used the MS tree border punch and dug thru my old Costco pile of papers and chose what I thought might work well for my brother. Three of the ladies decided to add our own little challenge by using the sketch from 2S4Y. I had a lot of fun making this card and can't wait to see what my challenge buddies have done as well.

Altered calendar

I saw the little two year planners offered from Michael's for just one dollar and immediately thought of my sister-in-law. She dutifully keeps track of everything and I know she would love this. I knew I could not alter it with too many 3-D effects and still have it fit into the plastic protective cover. So, I chose to use my littlest roses. I took several apart to create matching buds. I used the little Tilda stamp holding eggs but replaced the eggs with roses as my sil also loves roses. I then added one of my favorite verses to the front. I think this verse is also very accurate for a day planner! And of course, there just has to be a little bling so added stickles here and there. My sil also keeps a daily journal so am going to alter one to go with this if I can.

Twins' Card

I quickly threw this card together last night so I can get the ornaments mailed off. The shower is the 6th so bet I will already be late with getting things there. I think right now, with everything going on tho, I am happy to just be getting it mailed. lol I made a pocket on the top inside for the gift card and then searched for a nice Twin poem. After getting it all glued it dawned on me that they have not been "birthed" yet so had to change that a little. lol I do hope the mom and dad will like the ornaments as this card too. Ribbon Spool Ornament

I am in an ornament swap with two other ladies. We are to make each other a Christmas ornament to exchange on Dec. first. I am just playing around with a few ideas to see what I can come up with. This little one is made from a ribbon spool. I colored the image with pencils then cut him out with a nesties along with the matching scalloped nestie. ( cut a second set out for the back also but no image.......just a place to sign the ornament.) I then used the circle nestie to cut out the center of the red one and inserted a "Shake it" shaker box pouch. I painted red stickles on the scalloped edges and then used green stickles to decorate. Of course there is Icicle stickles on the image too......just gotta love that bling! I added the green bead string around the center edge to accent that some. I used a leaf punch and a snowflake punch topped with a prima rose. Added a bit more stickles to them and a few plastic snowflakes on top and called it done. This one is just my proto type but if I choose to use it for the swap, the two I make the ladies will have Dianmond Dust inside so it will be a shaker box. I would like some honest comments on this as I do not want to give the ladies something that looks too cheap. Thanks for any critique you can offer.

Another altered tin

Well, I managed to get one more done tonight! I am having fun with these tins......so much fun, I have ordered more and more of them from my good "shopping buddy". lol I used a sketch from "Just Cute Bears and Friends" forgetting that I had to use an animal! So won't be entering there this week. lol I also am using this for a private challenge between some good friends where we need to use at least one snowflake and have a Christmas theme. I inked the edges for an antique look. I love these tiny Tilda's and cannot wait until more are available!

Lil' Magnolia angel tin.

WOW! I am so impressed with me! lol I had the entire day to play and had little interuptions! I actually got a couple things done. Hubby is off to California visiting his mama so didn't even have to take a break to cook. Of course it may be back to my mama's in the am but at least I played and played and played today. lol Here is another gift card tin I altered. I used two embossing folders....I have had forever but seldom use! I roughed up the edges with the help of my handy dandy TH tool. I also inked around them and added stickles. I do think this one is a bit on the gaudy side with all the gold stickles but think it will show nicely on the tree. ( am trying to convince myself anyway!) I also sprayed the tin (just before adding the image) with glimmer mist. So this ornament is all shiny. Now only 14 more to go before Christmas.

Twin's ornaments

My nephew is having twin boys! I made the gift card tins into ornaments and made the inside a place to add a couple photos depicting their first Christmas. I thought that these little keepsake tins might be a nice gift......anyway I am hoping. I didn't want to make them exactly the same but did want them to be alike. I used the little bear stocking stamp from Bildmalarna and cut the little fellows apart. They were the perfect size for working with these tins. I hope the parents will like this attempt at making a keepsake ornament for their new little ones.

Gift Card Holder for Craftalicious

My good friend was so kind to think of me while she was shopping one day. She knew I would love to have these gift card tins so purchased me enough to use for the ornaments. Each year I make the grandkids a special ornament and hang it on the tree. They all seem to get excited to find theirs and even more excited to see what's inside. lol Thank you so much good buddy! This same good friend sent me this cute little stamp (along with three others in a set) for my birthday!!! This is the first one I tried and think it turned out pretty cute. You can see I used lots of stickles and even coated the candy cane he is holding with shimmerz. Just hope my littlest grandson likes it! Altered Caddy

A friend and I decided to take a shopping trip this past weekend just to have a little get-away. She had not been out of town for over a year so figured it was about time. We went to Boise for a weekend of shopping and I came across two of these ugly caddies and thought I would try my hand at altering. I have never altered too much and it is something I have wanted to try. Besides, I have a ton of cards now after a year of creating them, I figure it is time I move on to something else. So, here is the beginning object.

I had a hard time trying to decide just what to do with it but started by removing the plate off the front. I wanted this to be for someone other than a mom. lol I then decided to go with a more distressed feel instead of bright and cheery. Several years ago I purchased a tote full of paper from Costco. While at Costco, I thought they were just gorgeous and such a great bargain. Upon bringing them home, I decided they were not all that great and have not used hardly any. Once again I am trying to use things out of my stash so out comes this unused pile of neglected papers. I am still not too fond of them but chose three to use anyway. I thought this little Hanglar stamp was perfect for such a caddy. I also used some "melted" flowers along with some newly purchased ones. I did buy the Tim Holtz bookplates while in Boise but that is the only new things I used so mostly keeping to my "use stash" vow. With all that said, here is the finished caddy.

Halloween at Lexi's!

Lexi has some wonderful new Halloween stamps and we all got to play with the new ones! I chose little Vampire bear for my card. I had a lot of fun thinking of ways to use stash up on this one. All the paper is at least a year old. The bat stickers and spider are even older. As I was rummaging thru everything, I found some Halloween rubons so decided to add a web to the lower corner. This is the first time I think I used a rubon on a card. The little candy corn charms are a couple years old as well as the bread tie "Happy". Then to top it all off I cut out the "Halloween" from the confetti package label. And as most always, I had to add a little stickles here and there as well as a few pearls. Craftalicious Autumn color challenge

The challenge from Craftalicious for this fortnight is Autumn. I chose to use this darling little clown from CC Designs. I thought he needed a little paint on his face so gave him a little makeup. lol I also vowed to dig deep into my stash and get a few things used so out came the sequin pumpkins, metal BOO and the web and spider stickers. Another challenge from Bev! We picked the sketch from 7 kids College Fund, which I turned sideways. Again we chose a fall/Halloween theme. I made this for my son's boys. The little ghost tags pull out of the pocket with a little surprise for each grandson. The front of the card has a mixture of embellishments....from homemade flowers to ghost and bat ribbons cut apart. I even doodled a few extra vines on the pumpkins. I used my new stamp from CC Designs which I think is absolutely adorable. Picture challenge for Lexi's

Our challenge at Lexi's Creations this time is to incorporate a photograph on your project. I used her digi sentiment stamp "Happy Birthday". I chose to make a card for my husbands upcoming birthday. He will be 60 next month so wanted to make a card a little more special by adding his baby picture. I found a tutorial on how to make this slider peek-a-boo card and knew it would be perfect for this project. I love how his baby photo is showing thru the window but when you open the card it is a recent picture. My husband is absolutely not into frills and bling so made this card a little plain. Biddy Buddies challenge!

A couple of wonderful friends along with a couple of wonderful relatives joined me (now known as the Biddy Buddies) in a joint challenge. It was so fun. We chose the theme of a Thanksgiving card. Then we drew names to see what each would send to the other four......Bev sent the sketch, April sent paper, Barb and Tauna sent embellishments. I was chosen to send a stamped image. No one really knew what the others would chose other than the subject. We were then required to use what they sent. We were allowed to add whatever else we would like to. I hope the others enjoyed this as much as I did. It was so fun to see just how each made such fabulous creations with the exact items. Monkeying around at Fairy Dust Crafts

Lexi is very busy getting her store set up as well as very busy making new stamps for us to play with! When I saw this fun little fellow I knew I just had to get him made up. Stampavie Lil Mouse Christmas card

I am trying to get a few Christmas cards done early so here is another one. I chose the little sleeping mouse from Stampavie because I think he is just too cute! I chose the sketch from Sketch Saturday. I thought it would be fun to make a hinged card out of the sketch and I am happy with the outcome.

Flower Power for Lexi's
